The Åland Islands Peace Institute offers an opportunity to experience a dynamic and flexible internship during the fall semester of 2018.

We are looking for a person who is interested in or curious about issues concerning peace, security, minorities and autonomy. The work assignment include arrangements for seminars, spreading of information, social media and the development of our website. For the recruitment of this year we will take into consideration special skills in, among other things, editing of texts, e-publications, work with websites and e-courses.

Your field of study may be social, legal or political sciences but also IT, communication and information management. The working languages at the institute are Swedish and English. Knowledge in Finnish and other languages are also seen as meritorious. To be eligible for an internship at the ÅIPI you should have completed at least one year of your university studies, but have not graduated with a master's degree yet.

The internship period can last from two to five months, and will start in mid August 2018 unless another period is agreed in accordance.

The Peace Institute has limited financial resources, but possibilities may be granted from external sources such as a university, various foundations or other sponsoring programs. One possibility is to apply for funding through AMS college practice, where special requirement needs to be fulfilled.

Your internship application should include your CV and a short letter of motivation, stating why you are interested in an internship at the ÅIPI and what you are good at. Please also provide relevant information about your institution and/or sponsoring programme. In case you are currently writing your bachelors- or master’s thesis, please let us know as there may be a possibility to continue working on your dissertation also during the internship.
