In which ways have the \u00c5landic institutions changed over time and how have they adapted or reacted to new factors surrounding them? <\/p>\n<p>The research is led by Sia Spiliopoulou-\u00c5kermark and is co-conducted by researchers Heidi \u00d6st and Sarah Stephan of the \u00c5IPI. <\/p>\n<p>The project will further map the insights and experiences of a number of experienced persons concerning the role, relevance and weaknesses of the \u00c5land example in conflict situations. Politicians, diplomats and researchers from \u00c5land, Finland, and other Nordic countries will write their own texts or be interviewed for the project. A publication in English will be ready by late 2011, and the project will end with a larger conference in \u00c5land in the autumn of 2011. <\/p>\n<p>The project has received funding also from the Ministry for foreign affairs of Finland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-16047\" src=\"https:\/\/peace.ax\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Sia_stipendium_72.jpg\" alt=\"Sia_stipendium_72\" width=\"150\" height=\"94\" style=\"margin: 5px; float: left;\" \/>On the Autonomy Day the 9th of June the Director of the \u00c5land Islands Peace Institute Sia Spiliopoulou-\u00c5kermark will be receiving a \u20ac15,000 research grant from the Jubilee Fund of the \u00c5land Autonomy.
