On the 16th of April the Director of The \u00c5land Islands Peace Institute, Jur. Dr. Sia Spiliopoulou \u00c5kermark was invited to the European Free Alliance (EFA) General Assembly congress <\/a>that was held at the \u00c5land parliament, where she gave a speech on ‘Peace issues from the vantage point of a periphery of Europe’.
The meeting was hosted by the \u00c5landic political party \u00c5land\u2019s future, and the purpose of the  meeting was to discuss such issues as democracy, self-determination and regional matters as well as to talk about \u00c5landic problems such as influence in European affairs and snuff consuming. The participants of the meeting represented over 30 parties from all over Europe.
