{"id":19368,"date":"2018-05-30T11:43:33","date_gmt":"2018-05-30T11:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peace.ax\/2018\/05\/the-peace-institute-offers-information-on-aland-in-book-form\/"},"modified":"2018-05-30T11:43:33","modified_gmt":"2018-05-30T11:43:33","slug":"the-peace-institute-offers-information-on-aland-in-book-form","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peace.ax\/en\/the-peace-institute-offers-information-on-aland-in-book-form\/","title":{"rendered":"The Peace Institute offers information on \u00c5land in book form"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The fact that \u00c5land is a self-governing, demilitarised, neutralised and Swedish-speaking region in Finland is of course known by all those living there, but many others may not be as familiar with \u00c5land\u2019s interesting history and status.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span lang=\"en-US\">To spread knowledge about \u00c5land, self-government, minority issues and demilitarisation\/neutralisation, the \u00c5land Islands Peace Institute has compiled a book box, containing books published by the Institute or in collaboration with others.There are 20 book boxes, which will be put in different places in \u00c5land where lots of people gather, so that those who are interested, can borrow a book, browse through it, read it and then leave it for the next reader.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"en-US\">So far book boxes have been distributed to or are on their way to Hotel Pommern, the northern and southern line of the archipelago ferries, La Biblioteca Senza Frontiere in F\u00f6gl\u00f6, Havsvidden, Smakbyn and Stallhagen.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"en-US\">Tourism companies<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">&nbsp;and other actors who want to offer their guests free reading about \u00c5land and have a nice spot for a box can get in touch with the Peace Institute \u2013 We will give book boxes away for free as long as we have them.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The book boxes include for example the books \u201cIslands of Peace \u2013 \u00c5land\u2019s autonomy, demilitarisation and neutralisation\u201d, \u201cThe right of Domicile on \u00c5land\u201d and \u201cOutpost, land in between, Bridge\u201d.
