Lisa Glybchenko, a Ukrainian researcher from <a href=\"https:\/\/research.tuni.fi\/tapri\/\">TAPRI (Tampere Peace Research Institute)<\/a>, social entrepreneur and initiative taker to the Color Up Peace-project, will guide us through these interesting topics. <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visual peace technologies<\/li>\n<li>Visual images as security-building tools<\/li>\n<li>Digital and virtual reality peacebuilding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peace practices and research are becoming more and more tech-infused, not least because of the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on these fields, and several armed conflicts around the world including Russia\u2019s war of aggression against Ukraine and its effects to everyday lives in Ukraine and beyond. That means, we should be better equipped with knowledge of peace technologies to better design and implement peace initiatives, even after the war has ended.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The seminar will focus on visual peace technologies, also drawing on the role of visual arts in peacebuilding. We will closely look into using Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications used as peacebuilding tools.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After explaining what visual peace technology is and how art, design and tech combine to support peace processes,Lisa\u00a0Glybchenko, will show a series of\u00a0AR Posters in Support of Ukraine, which she created herself as artworks and for research. It will also be explained how visual peacetech relates to peacebuilding in some other contexts around the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All participants can expect to receive a lovely postcard gift featuring Ukrainian art relating to\u00a0Lisa\u2019s project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Lisa<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Gl<\/strong><strong>ybchenko<\/strong> is a Ukrainian doctoral researcher, (social) entrepreneur, facilitator and artist working in her PhD project\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/projects.tuni.fi\/visualpeacetech\/\">Visual Peacetech: Digital Visual Images as Security-Building Tools<\/a>&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0at Tampere University, Finland. Lisa\u2019s research is inspired by her peacebuilding work, in particular the peacebuilding startup she founded in 2016 \u2013 Color Up Peace.\u00a0\u00a0Lisa has been a visiting scholar at the peace and security think tank SaferGlobe, Finland, working on topics of peace technologies (2022-2023). Currently, she is a visiting research fellow at the War Studies Department at King\u2019s College London (2023-2024).<\/p>\n<p>The seminar will be held in English, with the opportunity to ask questions in Swedish.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar is free of charge.
