It is by <strong>Sia Spiliopoulou \u00c5kermark,<\/strong> former Director of the \u00c5land Islands Peace Institute and now Professor of Law specialising in self-government and autonomy at \u00c5bo Akademi University, who has examined the historical experience of legal mechanisms for dealing with disputes between autonomous regions and states.<\/p>\n<p>In the report, Sia Spiliopoulou \u00c5kermark has analysed the \u2018frozen guarantees\u2019 given to \u00c5land and presents current research directions, initiatives and approaches to study the role of law and dispute resolution in territorial autonomy arrangements.
