The Falkland Islands or Islas Malvinas are an archipelago in the southern Atlantic disputed by Argentina and Great Britain. The 1982 war ended in British control over the islands. The Argentinean government and some academics have occasionally revived the Islas Malvinas question in more recent years and have been considering Åland as a possible example and source of inspiration.
