On the 2nd of September at 1pm, school peace for the school year 2010-2011 will be declared in the town square in Mariehamn, for all 4th and 9th grade students.
The programme includes song, music and dance performances by students from the schools of Eckerö and Näfsby, and from Ålands Musikinstitut, a speech by vice head of the Åland government Britt Lundberg, each school’s posting of a greeting of peace to a friend school or similar, and finally a declaration of school peace.
The school peace project is a cooperation between the Åland government, the Åland Islands Peace Institute, Folkhälsan on Åland, and Save the Children Åland.
