The Journal of Autonomy and Security Studies – JASS is a peer-reviewed, open access e-journal published by the Åland Islands Peace Institute. The journal’s overarching theme is peace and security which is examined through the lenses of autonomy, demilitarisation, and minority protection. By integrating these viewpoints the journal’s editorial board strives to present new insights into an increasingly complex world.
Every issue of JASS includes scholarly articles that address peace and security. Before being accepted, all articles are subject to a double-blind peer-review process. JASS issues may also include other types of materials such as research notes, book reviews, and information on upcoming conferences. The first issue of JASS was published in May 2017 and thereafter twice yearly.
The editorial board invites articles and other contributions to JASS via the email address submissions@jass.ax. Additionally, we welcome proposals for articles, thematic topics, and other suggestions that will make JASS a relevant and accessible scholarly journal. It is appreciated if manuscripts sent to us have undergone language editing.
All issues of JASS can be found at www.jass.journal.fi.
