Hello, my name is Freya Roe.
My education is in archaeology and I moved from the USA to Åland 9 years ago. Until mid January I will be at the Åland Island Peace Institute where my main focus is a project where we are creating a peace walk – a city walk where you can learn more about the Islands of Peace and Åland’s peace history through different stories about places, green areas, people, events, buildings, artworks, statues etc.
Why Fredis? During the last few years of pandemics and war I want to widen my perspective and see if I can support something with a direct connection to peace. Already at the first meeting with Anna and Petra it felt like everything fell in place, they had many ideas and the Peace walk works well with my experience with history and education.
