Ten young researchers and five professors and senior researchers are coming to Åland 22-24 September to discuss the border between external and internal politics in political theory, law and conceptual history. The course is arranged by the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Political Thought and Conceptual Change of Jyväskylä University in co-operation with several other academic institutions, under the leadership of professor Kari Palonen. Contributing to the course are among others prof. Johannes Pollak from Austria, who will lecture about the political representation within the EU, prof. José Maria Rosales from Spain, who will speak about the rhetorics of cosmopolitanism and dr. Frank Möller from Tampere Peace Research Institute (TAPRI), who will discuss images as knowledge in the field of international relations. The director of the ÅIPI, senior lecturer Sia Spiliopoulou-Åkermark, will address the political aspects of international law today.
