The Åland Example Map
Åland, the Åland Example and its components are of interest to a wide range of actors in different ways and alongside several other possible examples.
Åland is a physical meeting place where relevant actors can meet and discuss. It offers a source of experience-based knowledge as regards in particular:
- A framework and catalyst for discussions in matters pertaining to identity, security and division of power or power-sharing.
- Institutions of territorial autonomy on Åland, in Finland and internationally;
- Ideas, principles and norms such as power-sharing, collective security and minority accommodation;
- Analytical tools for the discussion and management of conflicts.
