Gunel Isakova is from Azerbaijan. She will be volunteering at the Åland Peace Institute from 28.09.2011 to 30.06.2012. Gunel is a student studying International Relations at Baku Slavic University. She has been actively involved with the community in Azerbaijan by implementing projects for orphans. At the Peace Institute Gunel will mainly work in the framework of a girl-empowerment project, help to develop further projects of cooperation with Azeri organizations, also be involved in the whole scale of Peace Institute activities.
