Ivan holds an International Masters from the University of Glasgow and a Master of Arts from the University of Tartu. He is specialised in Russian foreign policy and Eurasian international relations. During his time on Åland in autumn 2021, Ivan has exchanged insights and contributed to the work of the Peace Institute. He has also held a research seminar and worked on his doctoral thesis, that is about paradiplomacy and conflict, with case studies from the North Caucasus autonomous republics (Russia).
The Åland Islands Peace Fund has been established by the Åland Islands Peace Institute with the purpose of supporting peace work. The Peace Fund is used to support the Åland Peace Fellowship.
