Now on Sunday, March 17, we launch the peace walk in collaboration with Ålands natur och miljö. Tove Waller from Ålandsguiderna is leading it and at 12 noon there is a gathering at Mariero.
During the walk, the peaceful history of Åland is presented and the different ways that peace is created through historical events, environments, works of art, and people. Join a fun and educational city walk and see the city from a new and peaceful perspective. The walk takes about an hour and a quarter. We finish with coffee and tea at the Peace Institute. Welcome!
The walk takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes and is open to everyone. You can also download the script in English and Swedish and a map free of charge on our website. Our hope is that you can stroll through the town yourself and hopefully learn new ways of looking at Mariehamn from a peaceful perspective.
The peace walk is also later included in Mariehamn’s literature days, Sunday March 24 at 9 am. Tove Waller together with Maria Widén and the church walk on Åland.
