Lia Markelin

Lia Markelin, PhD in Social Sciences from Bradford University in England, works as a research coordinator at the think tank Magma in Helsinki. Magma is a politically independent think tank with the aim to pave the way for new thinking on the future of the Swedish language in Finland. Markelin also serves as assistant professor at the Sámi University College in Guovdageaidnu/Kautokeino in Norway, where she is planning an international master’s degree program in indigenous journalism. Markelin’s special interests include minorities, indigenous people and the media.
