Susann Simolin is Director of the Peace Institute.
She is a doctoral student in political science at Åbo Akademi University and has a master’s degree in political science from Åbo Akademi University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Gothenburg.
She has worked at the Peace Institute as an Information Officer since 2008 and has since 2017 also worked with investigations and research. Before that she worked as a journalist at Göteborgs -Posten in Sweden. At the Peace Institute, she has worked with communication, seminars, project management, visitor reception, lectures and presentations. Her research has mainly concerned the Åland example, territorial autonomy in relation to conflict resolution and the international relations of autonomy.
