Knowledge about the body , sexuality and relationships is generally lower among people with intellectual disabilities. They may also lack the ability to reflect on such questions. Staff in care need space to process their own values, thoughts and feelings, and users desire a customized sex education that is in line with their own development.
Jack Lukkerz is a social worker with a master’s degree in sexology. He is also an Authorised Sex Counselor (certified by the Nordic Association for Clinical Sexology , NACS) . In this lecture, he builds on his own and others’ research and experience and presents both the available theoretical models and a series of practical insights.
The lecture is divided into a lecture and an open discussion where participants have the opportunity to ask questions and highlight different aspects of the topic.
