On December 1st to 2d Susann Simolin will take part in an international conference about parliamentary diplomacy and multi-level governance in Luxembourg. The main organizer is the University of Luxembourg. The participants in the conference, mainly legal and political science scholars from around Europe but also from Canada, will present various aspects of the international activities of national parliaments and federal entities.
Susann will speak under the heading “The international Relations of the Åland Islands – Exploring role of Parliamentary Diplomacy”.
I have previously written about the international relations of Åland, mainly interpreted as the activities of the Government of Åland, and it has been interesting to reflect now on the role of the Parliament in diplomatic activities. I look forward to learn more about this aspect from the other participants and to learn about experiences from other regions presented at the conference.
All organizers: Chaire de recherche en Études Parlementaires Université du Luxembourg Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie, Région Europe Institut de Droit Parlementaire and Université Complutense de Madrid.
