A new issue of JASS

In December, a new issue of the journal JASS was published. The issue presents the article ”Post- Soviet Territorial Autonomy – Why So Resilient? An overview of cases and interpretations” written by Alexander Osipov. By examining the cases Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, South Caucasus and Central Asia, Alexander Osipov challenges scholars on the resilience of territorial autonomies. JASS is the Peace Institute’s e-journal and can be found on: https://jass.journal.fi/

Meet our new intern!

Hello! My name is My Wahteristo and I am the intern for the Kastelholm Talks 2026. I am currently studying Political Science at Åbo Akademi University for the fourth year. During my studies, courses in security policy have been especially interesting, which makes The Åland Islands Peace Institute an exciting place to learn more about.   In December, I completed my exchange semester in Canada, where I completed my minor subject in Business Administration.   It is going to be fun to combine my interests by helping to organize the Kastelholm Talks this spring!
