The demilitarisation of the Åland Islands cannot be seen only from a defence policy point of view. This is because, the status of the Ålands Islands is part of the whole foreign and security policy context of Finland, writes researcher Saila Heinikoski in this article in Finnish published by the Finnish web site Politiikasta.fi.
