Anders Lidén has a long and solid background in diplomacy and international relations. He has previously served as ambassador and foreign affairs counsellor at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, head of Sweden’s UN delegation in New York, and ambassador to Helsinki and Tel Aviv, among other places. With an academic background in history and political science, Lidén has accumulated extensive knowledge of Middle East issues, peace negotiations and the work of the UN Security Council over the years.
In 2023, he was appointed by the Swedish government as chair of the Truth Commission for the Sami People. He has also been a board member of the Åland Peace Institute, where he has already contributed valuable insights and experience.
