What does Åland and the unique Åland solution mean to all of those who live here, and for the world today? That is the question that this book, "Åland i tiden och världen" (Åland in time and the world) sets out to answer.
Since its start over 30 years ago, the Åland Islands Peace Institute has received questions and visits from near and far. Many want to learn about Åland and the multifaceted relations to the surrounding world. These questions paved the way for the development of easily accessible material about Åland - a book that is based both on practical experience and substantial research.
The book is a collaboration between the Åland Islands Peace Institute and the Åland Museum. Photos and art are from the collections of the Åland Museum and renders the text further dimensions and perspectives of time. The author is Nina Fellman, journalist, politician and peace activist. The book is only available in Swedish thus far.
