How has indigenous peoples´rights to participation in environmental matters been implemented with regards to the Nordic Sámi people? If indigenous peoples, including the Sámi, have a right to participation, how is it expressed? What forms of participation are there, and which are the critical aspects? In this report, the answers are sought through a public international law analysis in the field, followed by a comparative analysis of the national legal frameworks coupled by an overview of the factual situation for the Sámi people in Finland, Norway and Sweden.
