Sia Spiliopoulou Åkermark, who has been on leave from her position as Director to work with research activities, returns to her position as Director as of 1 March.
– It’s great to come back to my regular duties. It has been very enriching and important both to me and to the Peace Institute, that I have been able to engage in research on demilitarisation for some time. Meanwhile, my colleagues and the board have developed the activities of the Institute in interesting and successful ways. Now I come back to both old and new. It will be kind of a new start for me, says Spiliopoulou Åkermark.
Kjell-Åke Nordquist, who has been the Acting Director of the Institute for almost three years, will keep contact with the Institute in various ways also in the future, especially regarding some of the research activities that have been initiated during his time as Director.
