ÅIPI receives funding for ”bold” research on demilitarisation
The director of The Åland Isands Peace Institute (ÅIPI), Associate Professor Sia Spiliopoulou Åkermark, has been granted a research stipend from the private Finnish foundation KONE for the project “Demilitarisation in an increasingly militarized world. International perspectives in a multilevel framework – the case of the Åland Islands.”
The research project stretches between 2015 and 2018 and funding has now been approved for its first year (86 500 €).
