Marie Jacobsson new member of the Peace Institute Board

The Peace Institute is pleased to announce that Dr Marie Jacobsson has been elected as a new member of the Institute’s Board. – It is truly an honour to be appointed as a member of the Board of the Peace Institute. I have followed with interest the important activities of the Institute since its inception. The combination of research and practical dissemination of the Åland Example makes the Institute particularly relevant in times like these, she comments on the appointment. Marie Jacobsson, former Ambassador and Adviser on International Law at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, is one of Sweden’s most experienced experts in international peace and security. She has a solid background in both multilateral and bilateral negotiations, with a particular focus on the UN Charter, international humanitarian law, the law of the sea and maritime security, border issues and regional security. She is an Associate Professor of International Law at Lund University.
